Dangote Announces New Skills and Job Opportunities for Nigerian Youths

Dangote Cement Plc has announced a skills and jobs initiative at its Obajana plant in Kogi State, aimed at creating employment opportunities and equipping young Nigerians with practical skills.

This was disclosed by Plant Director Nawabuddin Azad, represented by General Manager for Social Performance Ademola Adeyem.

According to him, the programme targets youths in the company’s host communities, offering training and experience to help them secure jobs or start businesses.

He said the initiative aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

Adeyemi said:

“Our goal is to provide structured opportunities that enable young people to develop skills, find employment, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.”

He revealed that the scheme has reached hundreds of young people through graduate trainee schemes, internships, and vocational projects in areas including poultry farming, solar energy ventures, and fashion design.

Also speaking, John Gwong, Chief General Manager and Head of Production, described young Nigerians as the country’s “greatest asset,” noting that mentoring and access to technology are critical for building a workforce that supports both Dangote Cement and national growth.

Head of Human Resources, Azeez Adeniyi, said the company values not just technical skills but also ethics, teamwork, and responsibility, which he described as vital for shaping capable professionals.

While Wale Adedeji, Head of Technical at Dangote Academy, added that the programme encourages adaptability and innovation among participants, preparing them to create jobs and thrive in a fast-changing economy.

Dangote announces 20 new jobs

Meanwhile, the Dangote Group, one of Africa’s largest industrial conglomerates, is inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for 60 new job openings across its operations.

The available positions span corporate, technical, engineering, and operational roles across its cement, food, sugar and other business units.

The company offers candidates competitive salaries, career growth opportunities, and a supportive work environment.

Requirements to qualify for the role are dependent on the job applied.

For example, security officers only need to OND, HND, SSCE or equivalent education to apply.

Interested and qualified candidates are expected to visit the Dangote Group careers portal to view detailed job descriptions and submit applications for their preferred positions.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Dangote Cement Plc has reiterated its dedication to improving road safety and operational effectiveness by continuously training and retraining its truck drivers across Nigeria.
