Kelechi Iheanacho Scores In Man City Debut (VIDEO)
Last night, Golden Eaglets star, 17-year-old Kelechi Iheanacho, had his debut game with Manchester City's first team squad and ended up with a goal to his name.
The game was a friendly game against MLS champions Kansas City and Man City head Coach fielded his second team with a mixture of first team experience.
Man City had scored the first goal from a sweet strike by Bruno Zuculini, but then Sapong equalized for the Kansas based team.
Later defender, Dedrick Boyata gave Man City back the lead back and then Kolarove added with a sweet penalty.
Iheanacho then showed Pellegrini how deadly he was when he stroked in a nicely placed pass by Jesus Navas. He sent the ball low into the corner from the edge of the area to put the icing on a top performance.
Pellegrini later talked of the Eagles star and said: "Finally, Kelechi is just 17 years old and he’s a very important player for us in the future.
"He demonstrated today what he can do in the future. It depends on the way he takes this profession, but I think he’s a good talent."
Iheanacho had won the Golden boot and best player at the 2013 FIFA World Under 17 Championship in the UAE.
He was then transferred to Manchester City in a controversial manner, where it was said his father demanded some cut of the transfer fee paid by the club from Manchester.
