How Female Suicide Bomber Killed Family In Maiduguri

Three wives of a village head and their ten children have been allegedly blown up by a female suicide bomber who attacked their home in Maiduguri, Borno state, on Sunday, December 27, Leadership reports.

According to witnesses, the woman took advantage of the chaotic situation, as the troops were busy repelling the attack by Boko Haram on the metropolis. She pretended the terrorists were chasing her, and ran into the compound of a local, Bulama Isa, also known as the village head.

A resident of Maiduguri, Ahmed Bala, said:

“She [the suicide bomber] ran into Bulama Isa’s compound shouting 'Boko Haram, Boko Haram'. When the families of Isa all came out of their rooms to meet the woman in the center of their compound, the woman simply detonated the bomb she had under her garment killing the man's his three wives and ten children.”

The village head was not at home at the time of the explosion. However, he was reportedly attacked by another female suicide bomber at the entrance to his shattered house. God was on his side for the second time during the day. Isa survived the attempt on his life, and suffered only minor injuries.

However, Colonel Mustapha Anka, a media coordinator of Operation Lafiya Dole, denied the reports that suicide bombers have succeeded in infiltrating Maiduguri and striking targets inside the city.

According to a press release, the troops intercepted and liquidated ten suspected Boko Haram suicide bombers on the outskirts of Maiduguri.

"Normalcy has been restored to the general area and the public are please advised to go about their normal businesses and social activities," the statement concluded.
