Anambra NNPP Guber Candidate Kidnapped

According to reports, the The governorship candidate of New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP in the November 16 governorship election in Anambra State, Chief Leonard Uchendu, has been kidnapped.

Chief Leonard Uchendu was kidnapped by unknown people on Sunday at his Umuawulu, Awka South Local Government Area home town.

Uchendu was the President-General of Umuawulu Town Union before he picked the ticket for the governorship election.

The abductors are yet to contact the family.

It was also reported that members of the NNPP were surprised when the security personnel attached to the governorship candidate were recently withdrawn, thereby putting him at great security risk.

The abduction has been reported to the state Police Commissioner who promises to track down the culprits.
