Up to six Man United players are reportedly staring at an uncertain future at Old Trafford even as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer plans to run the rule over his squad.

A huge chunk of the squad has already returned to training after enjoying a deserved break following a busy 2020/21 season.

According to Mirror UK, a large section of those who were present for the first pre-season session at Carrington have their time at United short-lived as questions continue lingering over the future of a number of players.

David de Gea and Anthony Martial headline a list of players who are said to the on the chopping board, with Axel Tuanzebe and Tahith Chong also earmarked for sale.

De Gea is believed to be facing a testing summer at Old Trafford after watching Dean Henderson emerge as a potential no.1 choice in goal.

The recent signing of Tom Heaton further complicates the Spaniard's place in the United squad.

Meanwhile, the arrival of Jadon Sancho is thought to have spelt bad news for Martial, with the Frenchman's place in the squad now under threat.

Donny van de Beek and Victor Lindelof are the other players who could be shipped out, with the former already courting interest from Real Madrid.

Despite playing a central role in United's squad last season, Lindelof's place in the team is under threat as Solskjaer is said to be shopping for a more versatile centre-back to play alongside Harry Maguire.
