FCT, Abuja - More details have emerged about the death of Ahmed Gulak, a former aide of ex-president Goodluck Jonathan who was murdered when he was on his way to Abuja from Owerri.
Legit.ng reports that Gulak, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was killed on Sunday, May 30, in Owerri, Imo state capital.

According to the deputy Senate president, Ovie Omo-Agege, Gulak was on a national assignment on behalf of the Senate committee on constitution review when he was killed.
Omo-Agege made this known on Tuesday, June 1, as he cited Order 43 to notify the upper legislative chamber of Gulak's tragic passing.
It was gathered that the red chamber observed a minute’s silence to mourn the ex-presidential aide during its plenary session.
The Senate president, Ahmad Lawan, described the deceased as a very committed, and dedicated citizen of this country.
He went on to note that the APC chieftain was a very distinguished politician who made tremendous contributions at both the state and national levels.

Gulak’s son breaks his silence
Mohammed, son of Gulak, said he was in his room on Sunday, May 30, waiting for a driver to take them to the airport to receive his father before news of the shooting broke.
He added that the deceased’s personal assistant was the first person to call the family via telephone to ask if they had heard what happened and ended the call when the response was negative.
Gulak's son also noted that the eldest child broke the news to the family when he entered the house in tears.
