A grandmother from the States is definitely proving you're never too old to follow your dreams. The 83-year-old grandmother has just published her very first book, now available for sale on Amazon.

While the newly published author has always dreamt of having her work out in the world, it took a stern push from friends and family to secure the deal.
@MaryVMacauley humorously shared that once upon a time, she couldn't even send an email. But today, the author has managed to navigate the sticky world of technology well enough to have her book available on the internet.
She wrote on Twitter:
"I am now a published author at 83. Not too long ago, I couldn’t even send an email. Very proud of myself!"

Nigerian man wins Commonwealth Short Story Prize
Legit.ng previously reported that a 23-year-old Nigerian writer identified as Innocent Chizaram Ilo won the 2020 Commonwealth Short Story Prize for the African region.
The young man's short story titled When a Woman Renounces Motherhood won him the prize.
Ilo, who is the youngest writer to be awarded the African region prize since the establishment of the Commonwealth prize in 2012, received £2,500 (N1,220,237.50) and a publication with Granta.
