Event lovers in Lagos can now have their minds at rest as the Lagos state government has further eased restrictions on social gatherings and event centres across the state.
This was disclosed in a statement by Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Uzamat Akinbile Yusuff, and the Director-General, Lagos State Safety Commission, Mr. Lanre Mojola.
The statement read that the easing is with immediate effect.

Meanwhile, the government also issued new guidelines for social/event facilities reopening.
The government also said any violation of this protocol shall attract fines and penalties in line with the Lagos State Infectious Diseases Control Regulation 2020.
Some of the guidelines include:
1. Registeration before reopening
2. Event duration should not exceed a maximum period of six hours.
3. Occupancy limit at any event must not exceed 50 per cent of the maximum design capacity of the hall.
4. The maximum capacity allowed is 500 people.
5. Deep cleaning must be carried out before and after every event.
6. Physical distancing shall be maintained between seated guests
In another development Legit.ng had reported in a bid to enable the construction of Ikeja Overpass for the red line project of the Lagos rail mass transit, the state has announced that it will be diverting traffic on Adegbola Street from Sunday, April 11, for one year and three months.
This proposed move was disclosed on Thursday, April 8, by the state's commissioner for transportation, Frederic Oladeinde, who explained that the diversion is intended to prevent accidents for motorists and pedestrians during the period.
Oladeinde added that motorists from Computer Village and Simbiat Abiola Way heading towards Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway will be diverted to Akinremi street to connect Oshifila Street so as to go through the rail level crossing.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng also reported Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, donated N20million at the launch of a book written in honour of First Lady Aisha Buhari on Thursday, April 8.
Tinubu, the national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), was the chairman of the occasion.
The launch of the biography titled, ‘Aisha Buhari: Being different’, was well attended by public office holders, but leaders in the Nigerian corporate world were conspicuously absent, with most of them sending representatives.
