A deadly plane crash saw two people lose their lives as they attempted to entertain the crowd during a gender reveal stunt.
The party held on a boat was to see a plane pass above them and reveal the gender of the unborn child, but the big moment never came.
According to TMZ, the party took place on the coast of Cancun, Mexico, where the parents-to-be had hired a plane to display a banner announcing they were having a girl.
However, as the plane performed a series of stunts over the water, things took a turn for the worse and the plane crashed head-on into the water.
The revellers could be heard screaming in horror as the aircraft plunged onto the Nichupte lagoon.
The accident that happened on Tuesday, March 30, took the lives of two pilots who were part of a four-person team on board the Cessna 206 aircraft.
One of the pilots reportedly died during the rescue efforts while the other died while being administered first aid on dry land.
It is still unclear what led to the crash, but an investigation is underway.
In similar news, gender reveal parties have been taking over social media in recent years as people come up with unique ways to share their unborn child's gender. In a video uploaded on Twitter, one family took it to another level.
The 52-second video shows two people dressed in giant baby suits (one male and the other female) making their way to a makeshift ring. @TrishXCIII_ shared the video on the social media platform with the caption:
"This is the craziest gender reveal I've ever seen."
