Left broken and distraught, the former nurse made up her mind never to remarry despite the fact that she was still young but to be 'married' to the children she had with her late husband and that is a promise she kept even till date.
Alone, she succeeded with her children all now grown up but there is a particular one among them who now acts as the veteran actress' 'husband'. He makes the veteran actress do some 'crazy' stuff you would think she cannot do for her age.
Like every one of her children that have been taking care of her, Femi Phillips, who bears almost the same name as his father has been like a husband to his mum.
The reason behind this is not far-fetched. He is the first son of the family and has continued to play the role really well as his mother at times calls him 'daddy wa' meaning 'our daddy' when loosely translated.
Recently, Mama rainbow shared a throwback black and white photo of over 40 years of her carrying her first son who was then a baby.
She captioned it:
"40yrs + like yesterday #throwback is now a DADDY WA"
Though Femi lives abroad, in the United Kingdom to be precise, he is never far from his mum as he frequently visits home to see her and puts smiles on her face.
With Femi around, Mama Rainbow takes dance lessons of the youth which she posts on her Instagram page showing her dance skills with her partner, Femi.
If Femi cannot come visiting his mum, she makes a dash to the UK to be with him for a while especially when she needs a break from the movie industry.
Femi, just like his mom, always makes it known that he loves her in return and that Mama Rainbow is his 'backbone' and does not joke with her.
Recently, Legit.ng reported that Mama Rainbow took to her official Instagram page to write an open letter to her late husband.
According to her, she lost her husband 37 years ago, but he has never left her spiritually. The actress shared a video to eulogise her late husband, thanking him for standing by her and never leaving her stranded.
