- Chelsea are currently experiencing some difficulties according to goalkeeper Mendy
- Mendy recently joined the Blues from Rennes and has become the side's number one
- Thomas Tuchel is now trying to change the fortune of the Premier League side
Senegalese goalkeeper Edouard Mendy has admitted that he is currently experiencing difficult time at Premier League giants Chelsea due to the Blues' recent poor performance.
Chelsea have not been doing well this season in the Premier League despite the club spending big in the summer to bring some fresh players to Stamford Bridge.
The situation made the Blues' chiefs to fire Frank Lampard and appointed Thomas Tuchel who started his managerial career at Chelsea with a draw.
Mendy was signed at Chelsea due to Arrizabalaga's failure to produce superb performance for the Blues behind the sticks.
According to what Mendy told Chelsea website, the Senegalese made it clear that he is happy at Chelsea and hopes the situation would change.
“It was a good start but with the team it’s a difficult time. We try to keep going, to move forward and I hope the results will be good soon.
“It’s a big responsibility because this club has won so many trophies and we want to fight to win trophies every year, so the pressure is high every year, and it’s good to be part of this team.
“I think we have to work hard in training, to keep working, and for me we need to stay confident between us because when you’ve lost many games sometimes it’s hard. But we need to stay positive, we need to stay confident and stay focused on the next game.”
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Thomas Tuchel who is the gaffer of Premier League giants Chelsea made it clear that it is his job to get the best out of German striker Timo Werner.
Since joining Chelsea before the start of the ongoing Premier League season, Timo Werner has not been impressive for the Blues in all competitions netting nine goals.
Timo Werner's lack of form also contributed to the sacking of Frank Lampard at Stamford Bridge before he was replaced by Tuchel.
Tuchel explained that he failed to start Timo against Wolves in his first game in charge of Chelsea because he was not sure of his confidence.
He however insisted that Werner will come good and he says his body language and the fact he looks so worried is a good thing because it shows he cares.
