The commissioner noted that Lagos is "seeing slightly increasing number of COVID-19 positive cases in clusters".

He urged Lagosians to adhere to the prescribed advisories of safe distancing, good hand and respiratory hygiene and avoidance of unnecessary gatherings.

Abayomi also noted Governor Sanwo-Olu has taken COVID-19 test at least three times since May when he announced that 10 of his aides had tested positive for the virus.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has continued to record a spike in the number of coronavirus cases across states in the country.

The agency from its tweet announced that the number of new infections for Thursday, December 10, was 675.

This is, according to the NCDC's official records, the highest number of cases recorded so far in about five months.
