Despite the reputation that precedes Nigeria, it continues to boast of talented citizens both in and outside the country, case in point Uzo Aduba and Yvonne Orji.

These Nigerian-born Hollywood actresses stole the spotlight at the recently concluded Emmy Awards. Orange Is The New Black star, Uzo, snagged her third career Emmy Award for her role in Mrs America.

Dressed in a black T-shirt with Breonna Taylor's name written on it in gold, Aduba thanked her fellow nominees and the team behind Mrs America.

Aduba went on to thank Chisholm, the first Black congresswoman and first Black candidate for a major party's nomination for president of the United States, "for her championship work for all people who have been forgotten and marginalized, who she represented."

Yvonne Orji, on the other hand, was nominated for her outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series for her role of Molly in the HBO hit series Insecure.

The 36-year-old was shown wearing an Azzi & Osta red one-shoulder sequin gown featuring a thigh-high opening ahead of the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and streamed live.

Orji looked ready for a red carpet during the E! News pre-show, where she told host Nina Parker that she cut her hair during quarantine to save time and revealed she will be tuning into the award show from Atlanta.
