Boxing legend Mike Tyson has called on heavyweight champions Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua to make their unification fight happen this year.

The British duo currently hold all four belts in their category after they both defeated their oppositions in their last bouts.

Joshua reclaimed his titles after beating Andy Ruiz in their rematch last December, while Fury floored Deontay Wilder in an epic fight at the MGM Grand Arena.

Asked for a prediction, he told The Sportsman: "I don’t know, but I’d like to see that happen though. That’d be a great money fight too!

"They’re in the best shape possible to be in and getting the most out of this sport as they can."

Tyson added that: "He has to go right back in, right away. Get yourself healthy, your head right, and get back in the ring,"

Tyson also believes fighters nowadays should be focused on carving their name into history - not money or fame.

"Boxing is such an enigma as a sport," he said. "This is what really matters: in two hundred years from now, there will probably only be five fighters that people will remember. That’s what it’s all about.

"It's not about having money or becoming rich. That they won’t stop mentioning your name until the planet’s disintegrated: that’s what this is really about.

"People are stating their names in the art of pugilist, fisticuff, combat, fighting. I like the word 'fighting'."

Legit.ng earlier reported that Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has recounted how he went hard on his childhood bully years after meeting again.

The 53-year-old who rose to the pinnacle of his professional boxing career hanged his gloves in 2005 after winning 50 out of his 58 bouts.

He lost six fights in his entire career after knocking his opponents out 44 times in his entire boxing fights.
