Gernot Rohr names Nigeria's squad for Sierra Leone battle with Ighalo missing

- Gernot Rohr has compiled his list for Sierra Leone double header

- Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo is not on the list

- NFF are still trying to convince Ighalo to return to the Super Eagles

Gernor Rohr who is the handler of the Super Eagles of Nigeria has announced the list of Super Eagles players for the 2021 African Cup of Nations double header against Sierre Leone.

Aside the host nation Cameroon, Nigeria are in race to become the first country to qualify for the 2021 African Cup of Nations.

This means that the Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo is still not ready to come out of international retirement despite all efforts by Nigerian football leaders.

Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho has returned to the Super Eagles after missing the 2019 Nations Cup.

Odion Ighalo retired from international football after the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt where Nigerian finished as third best.

Ighalo who was the highest goal scorer in the championship decided not to play for the Super Eagles citing personal reasons.

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles of Nigeria are currently topping Group L in the 2021 AFCON qualifiers with six points after two games.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Manchester United duo of Paul Pogba and Eric Bailly celebrated Nigerian football star Odion Ighalo after their massive victory over Belgian side Club Brugge late last month.

The 30-year-old star who joined the Red Devils from the Chinese League side Shanghai Shenhua in January was on the scores sheet for the Premier League side in the match.

It took the former Super Eagles striker just 34 minutes to grab his first goal for United in his first start as the Old Trafford outfit went ahead to win the match 5-0.
