Organisers of the event say they have up to N5million in grants targeted at skilled Nigerians and entrepreneurs.

Prince Ekemini Udo, convener of the initiative told journalists on the sideline of the event that he is passionate about Nigeria can build a more skilful and powerful economy.

“In trying to do that we trust that the people build the nation and if we must build the nation we must build the people.

“So if we want to lift Nigeria and not give the other parts of the world a basis to address Nigeria as the headquarters of poverty, then we have to build the people of Nigeria to become wealthy, and when they are wealthy they can also contribute to the development of our nation,” he said.

He continued: “The development of a nation is not totally dependent on the government, it is our collective responsibility, but a people cannot give what they do not have.

“It takes people who are doing well and have developed themselves to join the government to develop the economy. So that is why we are driving an initiative called Skill Power Drive which is to help raise a skilful and more powerful economy by raising people who are more skilful and powerful.

“We will be doing this project called skill power which is going to train people, help them get wealth creation skills, help them get funding and also help to mentor them so that when this funding gets to them they can manage it properly.

“There is a lot we are juggling and that's why we had to launch another project called 'The Funding Conference' which as the name implies is to have a platform where skilful and passionate Nigerians can be assisted and funded to drive their dreams because there is a bridge between your dreams and reality and that bridge is funding.
