Coronavirus: Peruzzi says he couldn't shake hands with Mayorkun at the airport

Following the news that the first case of coronavirus was confirmed in Nigeria on Thursday, February 27, Nigerians have been taking steps to prevent the contraction of the disease.

Nigerian singer Tobechukwu Victor Okoh, popularly known as Peruzzi, has joined the list of people taking preventive steps to protect themselves from contracting the disease.

In a tweet, the singer revealed what he did to protect his health. He noted that he had met fellow singer, Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel, popularly known as Mayorkun, at the airport and refused to shake his hands.

Peruzzi said they just waved at each other. Mayorkun replied to his tweet, joking about the fear of coronavirus. He said: "say no to coronavirus."

Legit.ng had reported that the virus was brought into the country by an Italian citizen who works in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that a popular relationship expert and Instagram blogger identified as Joro Olumofin took a preventive measure to take care of his health due to the spread of coronavirus after it was reported that the first case of the virus was confirmed in Nigeria.

Olumofin, who is known for his beards, decided to shave it off after he discovered that beards may make it more likely to catch coronavirus. He shared a photo of himself at the barbing salon shaving his beards on his Instagram page. He captioned the post, saying he cried before they shaved it.

According to Metro UK, a report from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention revealed that beards can prevent face masks and respirators from working. The report showed the types of beards that are okay and those that may work in favour of the virus.
