Rapper Akon finalises agreement for his new city named after him in Senegal

Celebrated American- Senegalese star, Akon, has announced the finalisation of the agreement to build his own city in Senegal.

The one of a kind city dubbed Akon city or Wakanda is expected to run on renewable energy.

The star took to his social media accounts to express joy after signing his final agreement.

"Just finalised the agreement for Akon City in Senegal. Looking forward to hosting you there in the future," he wrote.

News about the city with unique features was first announced in December 2019.

The city is set to be built on a 2000-acre land space which was given to the music star by the president of Senegal.

According to reports online, the city will be 100% crypto-based city as transactions and daily payments would be done with cryptocurrencies.

The project is expected to be completed in a period of 10 years with the first stage set to be achieved by the year 2025.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Akon started construction of an entire city in Africa.

The city which is called 'Wakanda' is to be built with unique features that have never been seen or experienced even in the major cities of the world.

The musician revealed on a radio show that Akon City construction has begun. The Akon City is to be built on a 2000-acre land space which has been given to the music star by the President of Senegal. It is reported that the city which is called the 'futuristic' city in Senegal, will run solely on renewable energy.
