Borno governor begins 2020 with launch of 5 projects

- Borno state governor has commissioned several projects to celebrate the New Year in the state

- Governor Babagana Zulum also spent nights three nights in Gwoza commissioning some projects

- The governor further inspected ongoing constructions taking place in Hawul local government area

To celebrate the New Year in the state, the Borno state governor, Babagana Zulum, has commissioned five different projects which were started in the last six months of 2019.

The governor who spent three nights in Gwoza commissioning some projects also inspected ongoing constructions taking place in Hawul local government area in the southern part of Borno state.

Zulum also distributed food items to displaced persons proceeded to Hawul on New Year’s day while commissioning a 10-bed capacity General Hospital in Azare town.

As part of his tour, Governor Zulum, commissioned a 40-bed capacity primary healthcare centre in Kwajjafa town and a skills acquisition centre in Marama town in Hawul.

Daily Trust reports that the skills acquisition centre commissioned by the governor was initiated by community members before the government took over in June 2019.

Zulum was also said to have commissioned a primary school and a primary healthcare centre in Kwayabura also in Hawul.

He inspected the ongoing construction works at a central primary school and palace of the district head in kwajjafa and was in Sakwa town where he inspected the ongoing reconstruction of a Government Secondary School.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a herd of elephant was sighted in an area Borno state close to the borders with Cameroon and Chad.

The co-founder of Africa Nature Investors, Tunde Marokinyo, said the sighting of the herd implies that Nigeria’s elephant population has effectively doubled.

It was gathered that the elephants were seen a few kilometres from Rann during a humanitarian mission carried out by helicopter.
