According to the gist, the said friend who was a P.A to a governor had returned from a trip abroad and sent her driver to help her change some foreign currencies into naira. The driver on his way out told the security guard that there was much more money being kept in the house and was going to change a little bit of the money they brought back.

The security guard, in turn, began spreading the unconfirmed speculation until it got to the ears of armed robbers who immediately stormed the house even before the driver returned from changing the money.

The robbers ransacked the house but found no bags of money. They even threatened to kill the lady and her husband if the money was not provided.

The truth of the whole issue came to light after the driver confessed to being the one to start the rumour.

According to Asemota, his friends were lucky that the driver returned on time with the little cash the robbers took as they would have been killed for lying.
