Pensioner brought to tears when students bring him a Christmas tree

- Terrence's festive season was made as college students in his area gifted him Christmas tree

- The gift came a day after he spoke about depression and how he wished he had a tree to celebrate the holiday

- After the kind gesture by the students, they also sang him Silent Night, an act which brought tears to his eyes

Terrence, aged 78, has received a great Christmas gift at his home in Oldham, Greater Manchester by the town's college students.

This came after the man spoke to BBC Breakfast show about how he has been dealing with loneliness and does not have any Christmas tree.

To his surprise, the show’s host, Walker, later came up his front door and introduced four students who brought him the tree.

According to Daily Mail, the college students did not only decorate his house with the gift, the college choir also sang him the famous Silent Night, a song that brought tears to his eyes.

On depression, he spoke about how one does not know how it really feels until one has to deal with it.

“I always think with anything, unless you've actually been there you don't know what it was like. I didn't know what it was like to have depression until I got it,” he said.

Terrence also spoke about the way he helped a 90-year-old woman with dementia whom he met through his activity with Age UK Oldham.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that ever since Cyril Aggett's wife, Shirley, died six years ago, he has been battling with acute loneliness, something that started just after her funeral.

As a coping mechanism, the octogenarian has been joining local school children very close to his house for lunch.

Sometime after the death of his wife, staff, and student at Coombe Dean Secondary School in Plymouth, Devon, realised they have not been seeing him around like before.
