Nigerians react to news about female student turning to a mermaid
A claim that a female student at the University of Lagos turned into a mermaid has surfaced on social media. The claims have sparked hilarious reactions on social media as no proof was shared to back up the claims.
It was reported that a student from Fagunwa hostel in the university had turned into a mermaid while arguing with her bunkmate.
On Twitter, a video of the lady being taken to custody by police officers was shared and it was alleged that the lady in the video was the one who turned into a mermaid.
However, since this claim cannot be proved, Nigerians have taken to the platform to share hilarious comments about the claims. Many made jokes about the alleged mermaid.

While others just berated the students for believing such rumours and described some Nigerians as gullible for also believing the claims.

Meanwhile, a Twitter user identified as Oluwatomiwa said the lady never turned into a mermaid. She said she only bragged about being one while arguing with her bunkmate.
