Alexis Sanchez: Man United flop pens emotional apology message to fans

- Alexis Sanchez has endured a difficult season with Man United

- The Chilean scored just two goals the entire campaign that has been characterised by injuries

- However, he hopes to rediscover his form, when the new season begins

Manchester United flop, Alexis Sanchez, has issued an emotional apology to fans following the club's 2-0 embarrassing defeat to Cardiff City at Old Trafford on Sunday, May 12.

The defeat saw United finish the season sixth, five points off a Champions League qualifying spot.

The Premier League side has registered a string of poor performances in recent weeks, losing six out of their last eight league matches.

Meanwhile, Sanchez struggled through the campaign, failing to justify his huge weekly wages at Old Trafford since his sensational move from Arsenal in January 2018.

The Chilean winger managed a paltry two goals the entire season, a record that epitomizes United's poor campaign that saw them go without a trophy.

The winger has however since admitted he endured a difficult season, alluding his poor performances to a series of injuries he has suffered.

"It was a very tough season…the fan (sic) are the ones who deserve an apology as they always support you no matter what happens," he said.

"Personally, I didn’t perform as much as I was expecting because of unpredictable injuries. I apologise to the fans for not being able to achieve our goals, Nevertheless we are Manchester United."

He further exuded confidence United will bounce back to glory as it was with legendary manager, Sir Alex Ferguson.
