Nigerian company Zinni Media accuses Floyd Mayweather of fraud

- Former American boxer Floyd Mayweather has been slammed with a $2 million lawsuit by a Nigeria company

- Moneyman as he's fondly called had an agreement to make five appearances in Nigeria and Ghana in June 2017 but failed to turn up

- He was said to have been paid a sum of $210,000 of the $375,000 agreed but never returned the money

Undefeated American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr has been accused to fraud by a Nigerian company Zinni Media.

The Media company claimed they had an agreement with the 41year-old to make five appearances in Nigeria and Ghana in June 2017.

However, since the deal failed to pull through, they have slammed at least $2 million in damages in a lawsuit on the former boxer turned boxing promoter according to Bleacher Report quoting TMZ Sports.

The media company was said to have paid $210,000 of the $375,000 they agreed after confirming in a video he would make the appearance.

After the initial deal failed, Zinni Media revealed they had another agreement with Mayweather to reschedule the appearances for December 2017 at a cost of $550,000.

The WBC super featherweight champion was said to have asked that the original $210,000 to be used as part of his payment, but never fulfilled his end of the bargain and never returned the $210,000.

Meanwhile, Zinni Media have filed a lawsuit against the former boxer at federal court in California.

They suing for damaging their reputations by breaching their contract and the other is the money he allegedly took without returning.

Per Forbes, Mayweather is by far the highest-paid athlete in the world for 2018 at $285 million by virtue of his fight with Conor McGregor.

Also, Investopedia estimated the 41-year-old's net worth at somewhere between $700 million and $1 billion as of January.

Mayweather is currently retired from boxing, but last year, he said UFC offered him a multi-fight deal that could be worth $1 billion if he decides to make the transition to MMA.

The 41-year-old retired in 2017 with an undefeated record of 50 wins from 50 fights and holds a number of world titles during his reign as a Super featherweight, Lightweight, and Light welterweight champion.

In his last fight against Conor McGregor, he reportedly earned a whooping $300 million while Mcgregor was said to have been rewarded with $100 million.
