Fight against Boko Haram gets boost as Army General Abdulmalik Biu resumes as new GOC 7 division

One the Nigerian Army generals, Brigadier general, Abdulmalik Biu, has assumed duty as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) the seven division of the Nigerian Army.

Nigerian Tribune reports that while taking over the reins of authority in a brief ceremony in Marmalari barracks, the new General Officer Commanding said he has come with an open mind and is ready to work as a team leader with the rest of the officers and men to achieve the best and route insurgency out of the state.

Legit.ng gathered that he said he has followed activities in the seven division of the Nigerian Army and was satisfied that tremendous gains have been made which he was ready to improve upon by hitting the ground running.

Earlier, the former GOC Major General Ibrahim Yusuf had handed over to the new GOC in his office before inspecting a guard of honour and driving out to his new designation.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that troops deployed in Exercise Ayem Akpatuma in Taraba state in conjunction with personnel of the Nigeria police on Saturday, March 31 arrested some criminal elements operating in Mayo Ndaga area of the state.
