English Premier League club Liverpool have prepared a welcome gift ahead of the possible arrival of Alexander Isak from rivals Newcastle United

The Swede is one of the most sought-after strikers in world football at the moment as the transfer window closes on September 1.

Earlier in August, Newcastle rejected a £110million bid from Liverpool for the forward, and reports have it that the Reds are not willing to submit an improved bid.

Isak was also left on the bench in their recent 1-1 Premier League draw against Aston Villa, fueling speculation about a potential move to Anfield.

Liverpool are still active in the transfer market, and they have a vacancy in their iconic No.9 shirt following Darwin Nunez’s departure earlier this month.

Should a deal for Isak materialise, the iconic No.9 shirt could be an ideal gift for the striker.

Other squad numbers, including 13, 16, 23, and 24, are also available for new signings. The Reds are reportedly targeting a centre-back and a wide forward before the window closes.

The reigning Premier League champions secured their eighth signing of the summer, centre-back Giovanni Leoni from Parma for £26million.

Leoni has claimed the No.15 shirt, vacant since Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s exit in 2023.

Meanwhile, Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has disclosed that nothing has changed in the transfer status of Isak. How said via Sky Sports:

Ademola Lookman no longer on Inter Milan’s radar as club eyes different targets

"Nothing has changed. The door is well and truly open. He has to decide what he wants to do. We would like a resolution. We need that clarity. You don't need any kind of distraction.
"I am not in control of that. There is one person who can control that. Let's wait and see. I have made my stance clear. I am concentrating on the team."

During a post-match TV interview with Anthony Gordon, who filled in as a false nine, Newcastle fans were heard chanting against Alexander Isak in the background due to his absence. Said:

"It has been difficult because we're a tight-knit group. But you see, today, we've still got that spirit and togetherness.
"That will never go, regardless of individuals. We're still together. Things like this can make you better in the end."

Liverpool eye Ademola Lookman

Legit.ng earlier reported that Liverpool have set their sights on signing Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman from Italian side Atalanta this summer.

The Reds are opting for the CAF Player of the Year due to his relatively cheap value of 60 million euros in the transfer market.
