Manchester United on Thursday evening, November 28, suffered a 2-1 defeat against FC Astana in the Europa League although it has nothing to do with their qualification for the next round.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer rested almost every members of his first team for this encounter as the likes of David De Gea and Marcus Rashford were left out of the squad.

But despite that, Manchester United scored the first goal in this encounter through Jesse Lingard who sent goalkeeper Nenad Eric the wrong way.

Manchester United almost doubled their lead in the 15th minute when Luke Shaw provided a long pass for Jesse Lingard, but the Englishman failed to score.

Dmitriy Shomko restored parity for FC Astana in the 55th minute, and the goal sent the home fans to total jubilation.

The equalizer however boosted the morale of FC Astana players thereby looking for another goal against Manchester United.

But they they had to wait till the 62nd minute before Di'Shon Bernard's own goal condemned Manchester United to a 2-1 defeat.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan made it clear that he does not believe that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can operate at the required level that is expected from a Man United coach.

Last year when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer replaced Mourinho at Old Trafford, he started well, as he went some games unbeaten but United ended up without a trophy.
