A Nigerian lady's video showing the state of her newly rented apartment caught the attention of social media.

The clip showed an empty and unfurnished space, with the lady expressing her frustration at the cost of furnishing it.

Identified on TikTok as @lettersfromfavy, the lady expressed sadness as she entered the empty rooms in the apartment.

In her caption, she hinted at the financial strain she was under, suggesting that setting up a 'GoFundMe' account might be her only option.

According to her, the cost of furnishing the apartment was about three times the amount she had spent on rent.

She said:

"POV: You could only afford the rent. After paying for rent but furnishing the apartment costs triple. I should setup a GoFundMe account at this point."

Commenting on the story, a Lagos-based Nigerian lady, Peace Omekara, said she's yet to furnish her house to her taste.

"I rented my house last two years till now I never even buy television or necessary things to furnish my house. It was just last month I bought fridge. Things are expensive. I just bought bed to sleep and that was all. Till now my house is still almost empty. Make I chop first," she said.
