The cap has the figure "47" and the Turning Point USA logo on it.

He spoke in a short video shared on TikTok by CBS Evening News, noting that the memory of what he saw will forever be in his brain.

His words:

"This is the same hat that Charlier threw out. Yea, and I was standing right there. It was one of the first hats he threw out. And so I wore this today just to kind of embrace what happened that day. It was hard waking up at 6am to get to my 7am class this morning. I was shaking in the car on the way here, not fear of going to school but fear of really living the memory that will forever be ingrained in my brain."
