Jos, Plateau State - President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday, April 1, postponed his scheduled trip to Iperu, Ogun State, on Thursday, April 2, to flag off operations at the Gateway International Cargo Airport.
According to a statement by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, obtained by Legit.ng, President Tinubu will instead travel to Jos, the Plateau State capital, to console the government and residents following recent deadly gun attacks.

From Plateau, Tinubu will travel to Lagos to observe Good Friday on April 3.
The presidency stated, according to The Cable:
"On Saturday, April 4, President Tinubu will travel to Ogun State for the commissioning of the Cargo Airport and the inauguration of two commercial aircraft for the export and import of goods, aimed at boosting the state's economic growth.
"He will also inaugurate the new edifice of the Federal Operations Unit of the Nigerian Customs Service and its operational vehicles.
"He will return to Lagos to continue the Easter holiday, during which he is also expected to commission infrastructure projects undertaken by the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. These include: the iconic Ojota/Opebi Link Bridge; the Lagos State Geographic Information System Building; the Multi-Agency Complex named after the President, and a school Complex."
Before returning to Abuja, President Tinubu will visit Bayelsa State on Friday, April 10, to commission some of Governor Duoye Diri's completed projects, NTA News noted.

Gunmen kill 26 in Plateau
Gunmen opened fire at an open-air bar on Sunday, March 29.
The police have confirmed that 26 people were killed.
The state has long been considered one of the most volatile parts of Nigeria.
Locals said threats had been posted on social media before the attack.

Security forces were deployed swiftly after the shooting, with troops and other personnel moving to secure the area and restore calm.
Nigeria faces multiple security challenges across different regions - from an Islamist insurgency in the north-east to banditry and kidnappings in the north-west and central areas.

Tinubu's minister slammed over insecurity
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that following the condemnable killings in Jos, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the lawmaker representing Kogi Central, asked the Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, to prove he is different or resign.
In a strongly-worded statement, Akpoti-Uduaghan demanded immediate and decisive action following the killing of residents in Angwan Rukuba.
The federal lawmaker expressed deep disappointment over what she described as the growing gap between the assurances he gave during his Senate screening and the current security realities.
