Kuta, Osun state - The Olowu of Kuta, HRM Oba Dr Hammed Oyelude Makama, CON, Tegbosun III, has weighed in on the recent altercation between popular fuji musician, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde Anifowoshe (KWAM 1) and officials of ValueJet at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
On Tuesday, August 5, KWAM 1, who was onboard a ValueJet plane, was reportedly seen drinking from a flask and was approached by a flight attendant who suspected that the content was alcohol, a substance prohibited onboard aircraft in Nigeria.

The attendant was said to have asked the musician to surrender the flask, but Kwam 1 refused, saying it was medication (water) prescribed by his doctor. Following his refusal to give up the flask, the flight crew deboarded the Fuju music legend. Consequently, an enraged KWAM 1 proceeded to the front of the aircraft in an attempt to prevent it from taking off.
The Fuji artist was seen in a viral video standing in front of the aircraft, with ground personnel interacting with him. KWAM 1 and the ground personnel had to dodge the wing of the ValueJet plane as the flight forcefully took off in breach of aviation safety rules.
Subsequently, the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) suspended the two pilots over the incident and banned KWAM 1 from flying indefinitely. The regulatory body also recommended the Fuji musician for prosecution.

Speaking on the development, Olowu called on the minister of aviation and aerospace development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, to temper justice with mercy and forgive KWAM 1.
Making passionate appeals to the minister, the monarch noted that to err is human, but to forgive is divine.
He also appealed to the director-general of the NCAA, Captain Chris Najomo, to lift the ban on KWAM 1 and the suspension clamped on the pilots, one of them identified as Oluranti Ogoyi, in the aftermath of the imbroglio.
His words:
"I want to make a public appeal concerning our illustrious son, an Icon, a legend, a distinguished Nigerian, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, directly to the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, our dear son, Barrister Festus Keyamo, SAN and the DG of NCAA, Captain Chris Najomo and the CEO of ValueJet, Mr Kunle Soname, on the error of judgment that occurred at the Abuja airport during the altercation.
"Our son has truly atoned and made a public apology; we are supporting his public apology by appealing to the relevant authorities to please temper justice with mercy. We are also aware that a punitive pronouncement has been made, but we're appealing for mercy.
"Also, I ask the concerned authority to forgive our daughter, pilot Oluranti Ogoyi. No one is immune to mistakes. Even nations make mistakes. Let's forgive them and move forward. May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria."

"As a nation, we should pardon him and move forward," Olowu concluded.
KWAM 1's apology: NCAA reacts
Meanwhile, the NCAA has disclosed that KWAM 1's fate, despite his apology, would be determined by the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and the Inspector General of Police (IGP) because the petitions against him have been submitted to them.
Michael Achimugu, the spokesperson of the NCAA, disclosed this in an interview on Saturday, August 9, while speaking on the public apology of the Fuji musician.
