50 Cent on Marriage and Divorce

"I have been in child support cases calling multiple times," he said, reflecting on the disputes that can follow a breakup.
He likened the entire experience to a drawn-out negotiation, with both parties repeatedly asking each other what more they could want after everything had already been divided and decided.
Beyond the legal and financial strain, 50 Cent raised a more personal question: what becomes of the friendship that once existed between two people who cared deeply enough about each other to start a family?
He seemed to suggest that the dissolution of a marriage does not just end a legal arrangement but erases something far more human.
The Contract Theory of Marriage
The rapper framed marriage as a contract that starts with clear expectations but quickly becomes complicated when those expectations are not met.
"The person you thought was significant enough to make you significant to other, that's the only purpose of marriage. Outside of that is a bad contract," he said.
In his view, a marriage that no longer fulfils that original sense of mutual significance becomes something that both parties are forced to keep revisiting and revising, often at great personal cost.
"Marriage is a bad contract. It's the only contract you have to renegotiate to get to a good place," 50 Cent added.
