Nollywood actor Olaide Olabanji has stirred fresh conversation in the movie industry after opening up about his strained relationship with colleague Mercy Aigbe.

In a recent interview, the actor shared deeply personal claims about their past, painting a picture of what he described as betrayal and emotional disappointment.

Speaking during an appearance on Oyinmomo TV, Olabanji recounted how he supported Mercy Aigbe during her early days in the industry.

According to him, his actions at the time were driven by goodwill and belief in her talent.

However, years later, he now feels that his kindness was not returned in the way he expected.

“I helped Mercy Aigbe, but she repaid me with wickedness,” he said.

Beyond disappointment, Olabanji made more startling allegations about the actress’ attitude toward him.

He claimed that Mercy Aigbe harbours negative feelings and even appears unhappy whenever she comes across his photos.

“Whenever she sees my picture, she always appears unhappy,” he alleged.

Taking it further, he suggested that she wishes him harm

According to him, some individuals change once they attain fame and success, adopting new attitudes toward people who were once part of their journey.

“I realised that once some women rise to prominence, they begin to act differently,” he said.

Amid the controversy, Olabanji also spoke about his working relationship with Femi Adebayo, offering a more positive perspective.

He revealed that the filmmaker featured him in the movie Agesinkole, highlighting what he described as mutual respect and professional understanding.

Meanwhile, Mercy Aigbe reacted to the snub she received from her colleague, Funke Akindele, at the premiere of Iyabo Ojo’s movie.

Ojo hosted the premiere of her film, which was attended by many friends and colleagues. At the event, Aigbe was snubbed by Akindele, who sat at the same table.

Even when Akindele took the stage, the two did not acknowledge each other, each looking the other way. In a post on her Instagram page, the actress who lost properties to an inferno last year shared a video discussing growth. She noted that not everyone would understand her evolution.

The actress shared lovely pictures of the lady who had schooled abroad.

In her post, she showered her with sweet words, called her a darling, and stated how proud she was of her. Her husband also thanked God for the lady.
