Pastor Bakare Addresses To Sponsors Of Boko Haram, The US, Jonathan And CNN
Famous Nigerian pastor, Tunde Bakare, has castigated the American government for their offer to assist Nigeria to wage war against the Islamist militant group Boko Haram.
The founder of Latter Rain Assembly, while delivering a sermon he titled, 'War on Terror, War on Terrorist and War on their Sponsors', to his congregation in Lagos on Sunday, also took a swipe on President Goodluck Jonathan, the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan and Isha Sesay, a reporter of American Cable Network, CNN.
During the message, the clergyman, who was the vice of Gen Muhammadu Buhari when the former Head of State contested for the Presidency on the ticket of CPC in 2011, said America's offer to assist Nigeria fight terrorism and rescue the missing schoolgirls in Chibok, Borno State is a ploy to destabilize the country.
Pastor Bakare buttressed his point by playing the video of his preaching in 2005 where he shared a vision of how God showed him that the US would one day come to destabilize Nigeria.
* President Jonathan calls for international assistance to wage war against Boko Haram's insurgency
Commenting on Isha Sesay, the cleric said the reporter has been disrespectful to Nigerian Government officials she has been interviewing since she came into the country to cover the 'Bring Back Our Girls' campaign.
He said that Isha made a whole Nigeria's Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, looks like a school boy and showing no regard for the Maku's office or the government he represents.
* President Obama pledges to assist Nigeria fight terrorism
Pastor Bakare also condemned Mrs Patience Jonathan's recent media frenzy, saying her actions in the video made to the public exposed her lack of education, adding that one of the judgements God puts upon a sinful nation is that low quality people would rule over it.
He however, said Nigerians should chase away the foxes first before we focus on the chickens.
On President Jonathan, the fluently speaking pastor expressed his sadness at the President's remark during his recent presidential media chat that Nigerians should not compare stealing with corruption.
* Pastor Tunde Bakare blames US for the terrorism in Nigeria
While commenting the president that he is trying his best, Pastor Bakare said he wondered how over two hundred girls could be kidnapped and their school burnt down and no one could stop it. He questioned why the Sambisa forest cannot be invaded by the military right in our country.
He also expressed anger in federal government led by President Jonathan asking for international help saying where was the international community when we fought our civil war?
Pastor Bakare concluded the sermon by praying that all those sponsoring terror in Nigeria that their economies would fall, that God would also start trouble in their lands, they would reap multiple terror and that their young men and women would rise up against them.
