Court remands 2 teenagers for allegedly defiling 12-yr-old girl

The Okeho Magistrates’ Court in Oyo State on Tuesday remanded two teenagers for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl.

The teenagers identified as Tereh Sunday, 19 and Teruwa Tarushi, 18, were ordered by the Chief Magistrate, Mrs Abiola Richard to be remanded in prison custody pending the receipt of legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP).

According  to the Prosecutor, Cpl. Friday Sule who told the court that the offence was committed on March 3 at Akinlabi Village in Okeho area of Oyo State.

The Prosecutor said that Sunday and Tarushi who were living in the same house with the  parents of the victim in the village took advantage of the fact that the victim's away was not at home thereby forcefully having canal knowledge of the girl.

The prosecutor said that the offence was contrary to and punishable under sections 516 and 218 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The teenagers who were not represented by a counsel, however, pleaded but their pleas were not granted.

The Chief Magistrate adjourned the matter till Thursday for mention.
