Chelsea to Face Man City in Champions League Finals After Sinking Real Madrid in Semis

- Chelsea vs Real Madrid Champions League semi-final tie ended in a 2-0 win in favour of the Blues

- Timo Werner and Mason Mount scored a goal apiece to inspire the west Londoners to a comfortable win

- The scoreline was enough to book them a place in the European tournament's finals on a 3-1 goal aggregate

- Real did little to nothing to trouble Chelsea at Stamford Bridge during the second leg meeting

Chelsea will play Premier League rivals Man City in the finals of this season's Champions League.

The Blues saw off Real Madrid in a crunch fixture in the semi-finals to book a slot in the last round of the European competition for the first time since 2012 when they also won the title.

Thomas Tuchel-tutored side secured a 3-1 goal aggregate against the La Liga giants to progress, with Timo Werner and Mason Mount scoring the all-important goal during the second leg of the tie played on the night of Wednesday, May 5, at Stamford Bridge.

There was all to play for during the clash, especially considering both teams had settled for a 1-1 draw in the reverse tie staged at the Angelo Di Stefano last week.

However, Chelsea had a slight edge ahead of the return leg meeting, having snatched a crucial away during their trip to Spain courtesy of Christian Pulisic.

Werner had the earliest opportunity to give his side the lead inside eight minutes after storming past Sergio Ramos the left before he was hacked down by the experienced defender.

The German thought he had finally broken the deadlock 10 minutes later when he slammed the ball into the Madrid net from Ben Chilwell's low left-wing cross, but his effort was ruled out for an offside.

He did however finally score in the 28th minute, heading home from close range into the unguarded net to make it 1-0.

However, the duo did little to overturn the scoreline as the hosts put the game to bed in the 85th minute through Mason Mount who slammed home from six yards.

Chelsea will now face off against Man City on Saturday, May 29, at Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey.

City will be looking to win the first time in their history.
