Anambra Governorship: APGA Denies Planned Imposition of Soludo

- There will be a free and fair primary election in Anambra's chapter of APGA

- According to Chinedu Obigwe, there are no plans to impose Chukwuma Soludo on members of the party

- The party consequently warned those who are planning to spread lies against it to desist

The idea that former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo will be imposed as the governorship candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra has been dismissed.

This is according to the national coordinator of All the Progressives Grand Alliance Media Warriors’ Forum, Chinedu Obigwe.

He assured that there would be a free-and-fair primary election in the party for the November 6 poll, Punch Newspaper reports.

He said conducting a free and fair primary election in APGA is inevitable, The Sun added.

“Those talking about a plan to impose Soludo as the party’s candidate are deceiving themselves.

Recall that Legit.ng had reported that ahead of the elections in Anambra state PDP started the sale of governorship nomination forms for aspirants seeking to contest on its platform.

The party on Monday, March 15, announced that it had commenced the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms for the 2021 gubernatorial poll at the PDP national secretariat, Abuja.

Legit.ng gathered that this was made known by the opposition party in a series of tweets via its official Twitter account as one of the aspirants High Chief Obiora Okonkwo purchased his forms.

Legit.ng also reported that as Governor Willie Obiano begins preparations to hand over the mantle of leadership in Anambra, aspirants have emerged for the gubernatorial election in 2021.

The contestants who are majorly from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), PDP and the All Progressives Congress (APC) are all top business tycoons in the state.

In line with the choice of most of the aspirants and that of the former governor, Chukwuemeka Ezife, Obiano has said that his successor must come from the southern region of the state.
