Anambra 2021: 15 aspirants emerge to replace Obiano

- Not less than 15 gubernatorial aspirants will wrestle to replace Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state in 2021

- The aspirants, all of whom are businessmen, are majorly from the southern region of the state

- The contestants are members of top political parties in the state like APC, APGA and PDP

As Governor Willie Obiano begins preparations to hand over the mantle of leadership in Anambra in 2022, aspirants are to emerging for the gubernatorial election in 2021.

The contestants who are majorly from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) are all top business tycoons in the state, The Nation reports.

In line with the choice of most of the aspirants and that of the former governor, Chukwuemeka Ezife, Obiano has said that he successor must come from the southern region of the state.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that 10 billionaires are preparing to contest the Anambra 2021 governorship election.

Among the billionaires are those that contested the governorship in 2013, including Andy Uba, Tony Nwoye, Ifeanyi Ubah, and Godwin Ezeemo.
