Facebook bans 844 accounts from UAE, Egypt, Nigeria, Indonesia

Facebook on Thursday, October 3, announced that its has banned not less than 844 accounts in countries like United Arab Emirates (UAE), Egypt, Nigeria and Indonesia.

The online company said that it took the punitive measure following observation of coordinated and inauthentic conducts taking place in accounts from these nations.

The social media firm gave a breakdown of the 844 affected accounts as follows: 443 Facebook and 125 Instagram accounts and 200 pages including 76 groups.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that the site had said that it will no more fact-check politicians' posts as they aspire and try to achieve their individual dreams.

Facebook said that it will regards messages from politicians as what should be propagated as widely as possible.

The firm said that it would allow politicians to go ahead with their campaigns without acting as gatekeepers and umpires.
