The former wrestler's brother has since taken to social media to confirm his death, revealing curtains fell on Bognar at the age of 49.
“It is with great sadness that I share some news with Rick’s Facebook friends. On September 20th Rick passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at the young age of 49," Ken, Bognar's brother posted on Facebook.
“It is tough to comprehend and will likely never sink in fully. Rick left behind a great legacy and I know he will be remembered and missed by all of us," he further submitted.
Despite not being common among most WWE fans, Bognar will famously be remembered from the 1990s having played a lead role during the Attitude Era.
The American has also previously worked for numerous independent promotions, including ECW briefly and New Japan Pro Wrestling.
