Fear of Oshiomhole is the beginning of wisdom - Lauretta Onochie slams NASS members over defection

- A media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, Lauretta Onochie, has commented on the large-scale defection of members of the National Assembly on Tuesday, July 24

- Onochie said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is better with the exist of the defectors

- She said that the move favoured the ruling party and the country generally

Lauretta Onochie, the special assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on social media, has reacted to the massive defection of some All Progressives Congress (APC) members of the National Assembly, to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC), on Tuesday, July 24.

In a statement published on her Twitter page on Wednesday, July 25, Onochie said that the move of the defectors was the reason the National Assembly was shut down.

Onochie said: "Now we know why they hurriedly shut down the NASS. As with an obese person who has struggled with weight issues all his life, APC has lost some bad fat. APC is now healthier and better for the Party APC, and the nation. The fear of Adams Oshiomhole, is the beginning of wisdom."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported there was a rowdy session at the National Assembly on Tuesday, July 24, as 15 senators dumped the ruling APC. The senators, including Dino Melaye and Abdul-Azeez Nyako, announced their defection at the Senate plenary on Tuesday, July 24.

The list containing the senators' names was handed over to Bukola Saraki, the president of the Senate, who managed to get to the plenary after a reported blockade in the morning.
