Adams Oshiomhole threatens to suspend Chris Ngige from APC

- The national chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, warns that he will not tolerate ministers who abuse their office and disrespect the president

The minister of labour, Chris Ngige, will be suspended from the All Progressives Congress (APC) if he fails to inaugurate the board members of the federal agencies and parastatals under his ministry, the party’s national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole has threatened.

The parastatals and agencies in question are the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, National Directorate of Employment, National Productivity Centre, and Michael Imoudu Institute for Labour Studies.

Oshiomhole issued the threat when speaking with journalists at the presidential villa, in Abuja, the Punch reports. He said he would not tolerate ministers who abuse their office and disrespect the president by refusing to carry out his orders.

The threat from the APC chairman was sequel to a letter he wrote to the minister, giving Ngige a week to constitute the board of the parastatals and agencies under his ministry.

However, Ngige, in reply, explained why he would not constitute the Board of NSITF within the one week ultimatum given by Oshiomhole.

Meanwhile, Senate president Bukola Saraki has dismissed reports that he was offered juicy appointment ahead of 2019 elections by the Muhammadu Buhari's administration to convince him to stay put in the All Progressives Congress.

Saraki, in a statement signed by his special adviser (media and publicity), Yusuph Olaniyonu, on Sunday, July 22, said he is more focused on the future of Nigeria and does not require personal gains to serve the country.
