- Lyon striker Nabil Fekir could be on his way to Real Madrid this summer
- Los Blancos want to make him as an alternative in case they fail to sign Mohamed Salah
- Liverpool may not allow the Egypt international to leave Anfield at the end of the season
Lyon striker Nabil Fekir has reportedly emerged as a summer transfer target for Spanish club Real Madrid should they fail to land Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah.
Real Madrid are looking for a new front-man that will lead their attack next season, and Mohamed Salah has been their main target.
But Liverpool chiefs are said to be asking for a fee in excess of £176m (€200m) which Los Blancos may find it difficult to pay this summer.
According to El Gol Digital, who are renowned for making outlandish transfer claims, Real Madrid are now looking at cheaper options.
The report claimed that Los Blancos chiefs see Nabil Fekir as a good option that will be of help upfront to Cristiano Ronaldo next season.
But over the weekend, there were reports that Liverpool have agreed to sign Nabil Fekir from Lyon before the start of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Nabil Fekir joined the youth academy of Olympique Lyonnais at the age of 12, but a major setback occurred two years later when he was released for not being strong enough.
He was included in the Lyon first team squad for the first time on July 30, 2013, remaining as an unused substitute in 1–0 home win over Grasshopper in the Champions League.
Fekir finally made his Lyon first team debut on August 28, 2013 replacing Yassine Benzia at half time in a 2–0 Champions League play-off round second leg away loss to Real Sociedad.
Having previously being called up by Algeria national team, Fekir made his debut for France in March 2015.
