Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali could be on the verge of a major summer move after months without a club, with fresh reports suggesting the Nigerian shot-stopper has now received multiple offers ahead of the transfer window.
The 29-year-old has been without a club since leaving South African side Chippa United earlier this year by mutual agreement.

While his January exit initially raised concerns about his immediate future, the latest update indicates that the former AFCON silver medallist may soon be heading to a new destination.
For Nwabali, the summer window could be the perfect opportunity to relaunch his club career and secure his place as Nigeria’s undisputed number one.
Nwabali’s Chippa United exit opens transfer race
Nwabali’s departure from Chippa United came as a surprise to many, especially after he had signed a three-year contract extension in 2024.
According to ESPN, the Nigerian goalkeeper, however, exercised a release option in his deal, allowing him to leave the “Chilli Boys” after four years at the South African club.
After strong performances for Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where the Super Eagles finished third, Nwabali had hoped to capitalise on the growing transfer interest around him.
That earlier move never materialised, but the market appears to have reopened strongly in his favour.
Former Eagles star confirms multiple offers for Nwabali
Former Super Eagles goalkeeper Greg Etafia has now revealed that Nwabali already has several clubs circling, New Telegraph reports.

“When I spoke to him, he told me he had a lot of offers when AFCON was on, he needed to go, but there is no agreement within the club,” Etafia said.
According to Etafia, Nwabali’s patience may finally pay off once the current season wraps up.
“He came, felt like he needed to play or go. Don’t forget, Dumisani Msibi was doing well in his absence. At the same time, he decided what he wanted, the club and him came to an agreement, and he moved on.”
“Right now, he has a lot of offers and is waiting for the season to end.”
This fresh development suggests that Nwabali is likely assessing the best sporting project before making a decision.
Although clubs have not yet been officially named, interest from South Africa, North Africa, and beyond has previously been linked to the Super Eagles star.
Given his reputation as one of Africa’s most reliable keepers over the last two years, a move to a bigger stage could significantly boost the Nigerian goalkeeper’s profile.
Nwabali’s Super Eagles spot on the line
While the transfer news is encouraging, Nwabali’s international position is beginning to face pressure.
His inactivity at club level contributed to his omission from Nigeria’s recent friendly matches against Iran and Jordan, with the coaching crew led by Eric Chelle preferring goalkeepers who are currently playing regular football.
Etafia admitted that the lack of club football may have influenced the decision.
Despite that setback, Nwabali remains one of Nigeria’s most trusted goalkeepers, having helped the team win silver at AFCON 2023 and bronze in 2025.
Nwabali opens up on being clubless
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Nwabali has not let his clubless situation rattle him as the 29-year-old goalkeeper views the circulating transfer stories as a sign that he is still relevant and recognised for his quality.
The Super Eagles goalkeeper remains optimistic after he expressed no desperation regarding the league or country he wants to play in.
