Manchester United have reportedly given Ruben Amorim an ultimatum to turn results around or face the sack as the club continues to struggle under his tutelage.
Amorim took over in November after former manager Erik ten Hag was relieved of his duties, but has plunged the club deeper than he met it.

United have four points from the first four Premier League games and were eliminated from the Carabao Cup by EFL League Two side Grimsby Town.
The weekend’s 3-0 loss to Manchester City in the derby has reportedly struck some nerves with the club’s hierarchy, as results failed to improve.

According to Mirror UK, the board has given Amorim three matches to save his job or be sacked. Their next three games are against Chelsea, Brentford and Sunderland after the October international break.
If results don't improve, the former Sporting Lisbon boss could be gone before Liverpool at Anfield, with five managers lined up as possible replacements.

Managers who could replace Amorim
1. Oliver Glasner
The Austrian caught the attention of top European clubs after leading Eintracht Frankfurt to win the UEFA Europa League. He has achieved success in England, winning the FA Cup and Community Shield with Crystal Palace.
Palace are aware that Manchester United and other clubs are eyeing Glasner and have begun talks with him over signing a new contract at Selhurst Park.
2. Andoni Iraola
Iraola arrived at AFC Bournemouth in 2023 and has transformed the club. As noted by BBC Sport, he achieved the club's best points tally in the Premier League, 48 in his first season, before surpassing it with 56 in his second season.
He has caught the attention of top clubs and was one of the names linked to the Tottenham Hotspur job in the summer before former Brentford boss Thomas Frank was hired.
3. Marco Silva
Fulham boss Silva became attractive to top clubs because of his tactical acumen, which has made the Londoners stand up to top clubs despite their level of quality. The Whites have managed to keep him despite the interest, including from a lucrative Saudi offer.
4. Mauricio Pochettino
Pochettino has experience coaching in the Premier League with Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur. He recently managed Chelsea and is the current boss of the USA national team. He has been linked to the United job in previous times.

5. Gareth Southgate
The former England national team head coach has been linked to the Old Trafford dugout since British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe bought the minority shares and took control of football operations. He is reportedly one of the names who could replace Amorim.
