Man Loses Composure After Meeting Ashleigh Plumptre in Nigerian Embassy, London

A football fan lost composure upon meeting Super Falcons star Ashleigh Plumptre outside the Nigerian Embassy in London.

The footage, which has since gone viral on social media, captured the moment the man engaged in a chit-chat with the WAFCON winner.

Plumptre was engaging in a casual conversation with Nigerian journalist Austin Okon-Akpan when the man bumped into the conversation.

Video showed he had attempted to exchange pleasantries with Okon-Akpan, who then told her to meet with the real superstar.

Visibly overwhelmed with pride, he interrupted with an enthusiastic, albeit mispronounced, chant of her name, "Plumptreeee!"

It was a moment that reflected how the England-born star is loved by football fans both in and out of Nigeria.

She played a pivotal role as the Super Falcons came from two goals down to defeat host nation, Morocco, 3-2 in the WAFCON final.

Upon her arrival in Nigeria with the trophy, she said:

"As my feet touched Nigerian soil, my heart swelled with pride. This land, this jersey, these people.
"We didn’t just bring home a trophy — we brought home hope, unity, and love. Thank you, Nigeria, for the massive love and support. Forever grateful."

Replying to the post on X, Plumptre said:

"The fan, my sisters random reactions in the background. So much going on.

Plumpre's sister joins Army

Legit.ng earlier reported that Ashleigh Plumptre’s father, Tim, is a proud dad and has celebrated his second daughter’s service in the British Royal Army.

His celebratory mood continues from Ashleigh's success in the 2025 Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where the Super Falcons staged a remarkable comeback to win.
