- Cristiano Ronaldo’s unbelievable 8ft 5in leap has been beaten by an African star
- Uganda’s Bevis Mugabi who plays for Motherwell leapt 8ft 6in to head home against Ross County
- The sensational strike was established in the Scottish Premiership
Cristiano Ronaldo’s outrageous 8ft 5in leap has been beaten by Ugandan star Bevis Mugabi who has gone on to jokingly taunt the Portuguese international.
Motherwell defender Bevis Mugabi replicated how Ronaldo had headed home against Sampdoria last season and a sensational strike.
After the game, ex-Yeovil star Mugabi joked that he would love the legendary CR7 to see the strike.
He said via SunSport:
"He's a very competitive guy so I might need to drop him a DM and say, 'bro you need to up your game.'
"I'm not really a social media person but my phone has been blowing up and going non-stop since Wednesday - it's been a bit scary!"
Asked if Ronaldo would start watching clips of him in action for tips, former Southampton academy star Mugabi joked:
"He better be! It's also nice to get compared to one of the greatest of all-time and being able to jump as high as him is mad.
"It's a nice thing to have but I was more happy with the result than the goal."
Cristiano Ronaldo unleashed his incredible prodigy and shut down his critics with a brilliant 8ft 5in header to hand Juventus a vital 2-1 win over tough Sampdoria on December 18.
The Portuguese once again proved age is just a number when he rose into the air, hanged for seconds before blasting in a match-winning header into the net in the 45th minute of that encounter.
Ronaldo is definitely not about the money as the Juventus forward has reportedly rejected a mega-million pounds deal to become the face of Saudi Arabian tourism.
The 35-year-old sensation is expected to rake-in a staggering £5.3 million (€6m) annually while the winger's image would be used on all promotional material.
Saudi Arabia are massively campaigning to become an attractive tourist hub through its 'Visit Saudi' theme but the country's lack of respect for human right seems to be staining their reputation.
However, Legit.ng earlier reported that his rival Lionel Messi announced his return to Barcelona line-up with a stunning goal in their 2-1 Copa Del Rey triumph over Rayo Vallecano.
Fran Garcia opened the scoring for the home team in the 63rd minute but a quick response from the Argentine six minutes later gave the Catalans a lifeline in the game.
And barely 10 minutes before the final whistle, Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong powered the Nou Camp outfit to victory.
