The plaintiffs, Okezuo Anayo and Isaiah Samuel, instituted the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CV/539/2026 on behalf of themselves and other ward members, alleging that Senator Kingibe had been suspended over anti-party activities.

Justice Lifu ordered the plaintiffs to put Senator Kingibe on notice to enable her to respond to the allegations and join issues with them.

As reported by The Punch, Justice Lifu gave the ruling on Thursday, April 2, 2026.

The ADC ward leaders had approached the court to restrain Kingibe from parading herself as a member of the party and from participating in its activities.

They alleged that the senator representing the FCT was suspended on March 10, 2026, over alleged anti-party activities and disregard for the party’s constitution.

Justice Lifu stated that justice would only be served if both parties were allowed to present their cases on merit.

The ASC ward leaders' plaintiffs anchored their suit on five grounds, including allegations of gross misconduct and confiscation of ward records.
