A Nollywood Actor Is Dead

The rate at which Nollywood actors are dying these days is becoming worrisome.

Another Nollywood actor has passed on.

Jubril, a famous Kannywood actor/ comedian, passed on January 30, 2014, Thursday morning in Talatan Mafara, Zamfara State, the same day Nollywood actor, Charles Warren died which was reported some days ago.

Jubril, before his death, was quite popular in the Hausa speaking Kannywood and was known as ‘Golobo’; he took up mostly comic roles. He was a veteran who acted in weekly TV Series on Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) in the mid 80’s. His most recent performance was in the Kannywood movie, ‘Maiciki’, where he starred alongside Rabiu Musa Ibro and Jamilia Nagudu.

According to the BBC, Kannywood actor/producer, Murtala Balala, who attended the burial ceremony of the veteran actor, said that the comedian would be greatly missed.

‘Golobo is going to be missed in the Kannywood comedy movies,’ Balala said.

It was gathered Jubril was buried on Thursday according to Islamic rites.
