Football Legend Pele Readmitted In Hospital

Latest reports from Sao Paolo in Brazil informed that football icon, Pele was readmitted to hospital on Monday night just days after undergoing surgery to remove kidney stones.

According to a report on Skynews, Pele is said to be "stable" by the hospital authorities.

The 74-year-old, who won three World Cups with Brazil, underwent surgery for kidney stones on 13 November.

It was gathered from local media that Pele was readmitted due to urinary infection.

A spokesman for Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo said he was undergoing "medical evaluation".

During his previous visit to the hospital,  Pele was accompanied by aide Jose Fornos Rodrigues.

It was disclosed that he was kept under observation for two days that caused him missed a book launch in his hometown of Santos.

Born Edson Arantes do Nascimento, the man the world knows as Pele is regarded by many as the greatest footballer of all time.

In 1999 he was named Athlete of the Century by the International Olympic Committee.

His return for further treatment comes on the day his son, born Edson Cholbi do Nascimento but known as Edinho, was released from jail in Brazil to appeal a money-laundering conviction.

It would be recalled that Pele was among iconic figures reported to have been invited to grace the inauguration of the Akwa Ibom Stadium when it opened on 7 November.
